John C. Maxwell has written several Christian oriented books on ethics and business practices. There's No Such Thing as "Business" Ethics is his newest take on the contentious subject of business ethics. Maxwell, who is a respected Christian motivational speaker and writer, contends that there really is no such a thing as business ethics. Rather, there is one ethical standard that should be applied to all aspects of your life - both personal and business.
The ethical standard that Maxwell promotes is the Golden Rule, i.e., 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you'. He illustrates how it can be applied to all aspects of business from billing clients to evaluating co-workers. He does this by providing case studies of instances in which the Golden Rule has been applied in real business situations. He also explains the common situations in which people tend to do things that are contrary to their normal moral and ethical standards.
There's No Such Thing as "Business" Ethics is a timely book, especially considering the current spat of unethical business practices and corporate scandals highlighted on almost every newscast. This book serves as a handy guide on how to 'do things the right way' and feel good about yourself while your doing it!
This audio recording of There's No Such Thing as "Business" Ethics is read by the author. It is also an unabridged recording of his book, so you get the full benefit of Maxwell's wisdom.
