Seedy Press has compiled a variety of CD-Rom's, each containing a library's worth of books. These CD's are thematically divided into subjects such as Children's Books, Religion, and Non-Fiction. Other CD's are organized by country. One such CD is Seedy Press' Canada: Literature and History, which was compiled by Richard Seltzer.
The Canada: Literature and History CD currently contains 13 works of literature and 13 history books. Seedy Press is continually updating their CD's, and new editions, with more books, are issued on a regular basis.
This CD contains a variety of books written by Canadian authors, as well as books written about Canada. All of the books on this CD are offered in a plain text format, making it readily accessible by most screen reading programs. As well, this CD ships with DLJ Software's Readit program. This is a shareware, dos program, that allows you to bookmark you place within a text. As well, it allows for quick and easy navigation among the various files, and may be especially useful for visually impaired readers.
Canadian Literature
The works of Canadian literature contained on this CD include:
Ralph Centennius' The Dominion in 1983, a book which compares modern day (1983) Canada against the Canada of 1883. Please note that this book was originally written in 1883! Consequently, Centennius (a pseudonym) must have borrowed H.G. Well's Time Machine in order to take a peak at 1983 Canada. Be sure not to miss this one, it is a marvelous story.

Seven books by Lucy Maud Montgomery, including

Once the text is opened, you can enlarge the font to suit your reading needs. In addition, this CD can be read by most screen reading programs.
