This new, National Association for Visually Handicapped (NAVH) approved, large print edition, of the Random House Webster's Large Print Crossword Puzzle Dictionary is based upon the text found in the 4th Edition of the Random House Webster's Crossword Puzzle Dictionary. The text includes thousands of clue and answer words, including brand names, trivia related words, and terms associated with popular culture. Best of all, this practical reference guide is a must for trivia buffs and crossword puzzlers of all skill levels.

Random House Webster's Large Print Crossword Puzzle Dictionary is a solid crossword puzzle dictionary that offers that extra little bit of help that crossword puzzlers, on rare occasions, need to help solve particularly nasty puzzles! More important, the text is printed in a clear, dark, large type face that is easy on the eyes and perfect for anyone who wants or needs a large print Crossword Dictionary.

Throughout, clue words are presented, alphabetically and in a bold typeface. The answer words given in order of the number of letters in each answer (smallest answers to largest). When applicable, answers to subcategories are also included. Entries that cover countries or geographical regions provide a wealth of information ranging from a country's capital or largest city to its highest point or prominent physical feature. For each entry, the number of letters in each word is listed in a bold typeface, as are subcategory heading. An example of a typical entry is as follows:

The text is visually well organized, with the clue words in a bold, approximately 18-point font, and with the answer words in a slightly smaller, non-bold font. The text is arranged with two columns of entries on each page, with a vertical line dividing the two columns. In addition, the text is printed on slightly off-white paper, thereby reducing glare.

Overall, this is an outstanding crossword puzzle dictionary that will benefit both beginning and advanced crossword puzzle enthusiasts. Unfortunately, the large print edition of this dictionary does not include as many clue words as does the standard print edition. However it does contain a sufficient number of entries that should be enough to satisfy all but the most serious crossword puzzlers. Throughout the entries are well organized and the clue answers are detailed. This is also, to the best of my knowledge, the only large print crossword puzzle dictionary available!

To help you use this dictionary, a handy little "How to Use This Book" overview is included that explains how the dictionary is organized, and how to use it to search for answers to crossword puzzle clues. In addition to being a boon to crossword puzzle afficionados, this book is also simply fun to read (at least for those of us that are word nerds). It should also prove of interest to trivia buffs as it is filled will all manner of arcane information such as what was the name of President Rutherford Birchards Hayes' wife? (Lucy), or who wrote Doctor Zhivago (Boris Pasternak). In the short, Random House Webster's Large Print Crossword Puzzle Dictionary is a must have reference guide for anyone serious about solving crossword puzzles.
