Created by the American Heart Association, this cookbook includes more than 200 recipes that are easy to prepare and which are accompanied by a per serving nutritional analyses of each dish. This is the third edition of the Low-Fat, Low Cholesterol Cookbook and it includes fifty new recipes that were not included in earlier editions.

In addition to the recipes, this book also includes a non-technical explanation on what cholesterol is and how it can impact your health. Explanations on how cholesterol can harm the heart are also included, as well as a survey of how exercise and dietary changes can impact your blood cholesterol levels and the steps you can, and should take, to lower your blood cholesterol.

The recipes in this cookbook are organized into traditional thematic 'cookbook' categories such as appetizers, soups, salads, seafood, poultry, meats, vegetarian entrees, vegetables, breads, beverages, and deserts. The ingredients used throughout are easy to find items. Suggestions on how to substitute heart healthy alternatives to many of the ingredients that you might normally use, are also offered.
