No matter their age, most women covet youth, beauty, power, and wealth. In Western societies, as women age and youth and beauty begin to fade, it can become more difficult to hold onto power, and by extension, wealth. In her new book The Mona Lisa Stratagem: The Art of Women, Age, and Power, Harriet Rubin tackles these issues and discusses stratagems by which older women can hold onto at least three of these coveted traits.
As Rubin states in this inspirational audiobook, which she also reads, the only real enemy that a woman has is Time. All other things can be combated, but time is invincible. Nonetheless there are steps that you can take to ensure that you find the beauty, power, and happiness that you want - even after the first bloom of youth is long past.
With inspirational fervor, Rubin explores how many middle-aged and beyond women have gone on to achieve greater success later in life than they ever imagined. From second careers to gaining a sense of self confidence that makes older women more sexy than younger women to wielding power that was unimaginable when they were younger.
In her book, The Princessa: Machiavelli for Women, Rubin showed older women how to achieve success. She shows older women that not only do they have more to offer than younger women, but also that have more opportunities available to them than they did when they were younger - so go for it. Imagine the unimaginable - and than go out and make it happen.
The Mona Lisa Stratagem is must a must 'listen to' for anyone age 45 or older, or who is approaching middle age. Through sound advice, personal insights, and information garnered from historical and literary sources, Rubin illustrates how to harness your 'mature power' to empower yourself to reach your full potential!
