Written in outline form, the Neuro-Ophthalmology Review Manual is an invaluable reference guide on clinical neuro-ophthalmology. It was written by Dr. Lanning B. Kline, Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, and by Dr. Frank J. Bajandas, who was, formally, an Associated Clinical Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center. This is the fifth edition of Neuro-Ophthalmology Review Manual. It has been updated, and two new chapters have been added to the book, Disorders of Higher Visual Function and Phakomatoses.

This book is not only ideal as a handy reference guide on the subject of neuro-ophthalmology, but it will also serve as an excellent study guide for those preparing for their certification exams. As stated above, the text is written in outline form, with occasional, detailed descriptions of some points. Throughout, this text includes many illustrations that help to expand on, or explain, the material in the text. Also included is a host of tables that also provide additional information, such as Heredofamilial Optic Atrophies which outline the clinical symptoms of its various form. Other charts, such as the one entitled, Grave's Disease Signs offers, in addition to listing the signs of Grave's disease, a mnemonic chart to help you remember the signs. Also included in this text is a Visual Field Quiz that offers the reader the opportunity to try to interpret the results of several visual field results. A list of plausible interpretations is given, to check yourself against. In addition, each chapter is followed by a detailed bibliography that will guide you to additional sources of information.

In short, the fifth edition of the Neuro-Ophthalmology Review Manual is an indispensable study aid and reference guide.
