The new portable digital audio book player, BookSense Standard, allows people to access information for education, information, and entertainment. Weighing only four ounces, it is portable and powerful, comfortable to use and easily fits into a shirt pocket, backpack, or purse, so you can take it anywhere.
The BookSense Standard comes with a 2 GB memory card. This model plays audio files, DAISY content, and reads many different document types. The media player supports a variety of formats, such as MP3, MP4, OGG, WAV, WAX, M4A, and WMA. Use the media player to listen to your music collection, including music downloaded from Apple iTunes. The BookSense plays Daisy Content available from The National Library Service, (NLS BARD) Braille and Audio Reading. Outside of all the different books you will have access to, the built-in media player supports a variety of formats, such as MP3, MP4, OGG, WAV, WAX, M4A, and WMA. Support for both OverDrive media and books from Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic (RFB&D) are not yet available but will be soon. Other formats which the BookSense can read are: txt, rtf, doc, docx, html, xml, brl, and brf files and also Microsoft Word 2003 and Word 2007 files.
