Historically, the literary musings of science fiction writers have often proven to develop into science fact. Robots, spacecraft, aircraft, submarines, man traveling to the moon, all these ideas first found fruition within the pages of science fiction novels. Richard Seltzer's new anthology of historic science fiction novels; Other Worlds: Old Science Fiction, Time Dislocation, Alternate History, and Utopia includes many of the works wherein these groundbreaking ideas first appeared. Housed on a single CD, this collection includes approximately ninety novels that run the gamut for alternative future stories and technology-based science fiction to satires and utopian scenarios.

Many of the authors highlighted in this collection are well known for their science fiction novels such as Jules Verne, Edgar Rice Burroughs, and Mary Shelley. You may also be surprised to discover that other, equally renowned authors who were made famous writing in other genres, also penned science fiction works. All the files in this collection are in plain text format (ASCII), making them easily accessible to those who use computer text-to-speech (screen readers) and computer screen magnification programs. This format also allows each reader to easily alter the font size and style to suit their unique visual needs.

Other Worlds: Old Science Fiction, Time Dislocation, Alternate History, and Utopia is the third volume in B&R Samizdat Express' new CD of the Month Series. The CDs in this series can be purchased individually, or readers can purchase a yearly subscription. Additionally, these CDs are designed for use only on Windows PCs, and you will need to have an Internet Browser or Word Processing program installed on your computer in order to open the files.
