Today Matters: 12 Daily Practices to Guarantee Tomorrow's Success is a step-by-step guide on how to change your life, for the better. Change is one of the constants in life. Sometimes change just happens - at other times you may want to be the once compelling the change to take place.
Written and read by John C. Maxwell, Today Matters offers twelve easy to follow techniques that will help you take control of your life and force a change upon yourself. According to Maxwell, the biggest thing holding you back from leading a successful life is the habit of dwelling in the past. Therefore, one of the biggest changes that you can make is to stop looking at what happened 'before' and to start looking forward.
The twelve practices that Maxwell outlines in this book are relatively easy to follow. For example, don't use negative language and be positive in your outlook. Each of Maxwell's twelve principles concentrates on one aspect of life, such as relationships, health, and finances. On their own, each of these 'practices' seem a bit simplistic. However, when you put all twelve practices into practice at once, you will quickly notice that they have a positive and uplifting effect on your life.
Written from a Christian perspective, Today Matters has the feel of a lecture, but is not preachy. Rather, Maxwell is merely providing you with tools that you can use to develop a solid, positive attitude. These tools will also help you to develop the confidence needed to move your life forward toward a more happy and successful future.
